The special election, which will determine who fills the vacant seat, is Tuesday, June 22, 2021. The appointment will become effective after the Polk County Election Office has certified the election and the oath is taken by the newly elected person following the special election on June 22.
The polling places will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The CIty of Johnston's Farmers Market will run through October 12. Come out and enjoy fresh produce, live music, baked goods, crafts, food trucks and more. The market runs from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. Proceeds from the Farmers Market benefit the Johnston residential tree program.
