The Johnston Parks Department and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources released 1,000 rainbow trout into Terra Lake on Friday, Oct. 30. The 1,000 rainbow trout are around 10″ in length.
“We remind anglers to enjoy fishing while social distancing,” said John Schmitz Parks & Recreation Director. “It is imperative we keep our community safe. Terra Lake is eight acres, which offers anglers a great opportunity to spread out.”
All anglers 16 years and older must have a fishing license to fish Iowa waters. Anglers under the age of 16 may fish Iowa waters without a fishing license and may fish for and keep their own limit of fish, except when fishing for trout they must share their limit with a licensed adult or buy their own trout fee to keep their own limit of trout.
