The Johnston Town Center is making progress and the new Johnston City Hall is near completion. The existing City Hall will be closed on Thursday, Oct. 8, and Friday, Oct. 9, to allow staff to move into the new building.
The new City Hall will be open for business on Monday, Oct. 12, 2020. The existing City Hall will be torn down to make room for The Yard, the open green space at the heart of the new Johnston Town Center.
While the new City Hall will be open for business, vehicular access to the building will be limited temporarily to one driveway off NW 63rd Pl. Future access points to City Hall from Merle Hay Road and NW 62nd Ave. will be completed later this fall and next spring; in the interim, detour signs will be placed to help residents navigate the area.
Residents and visitors to City Hall can park in the parking lot just to the east or south of the new building, and the primary entrance doors face to the east.
