The City of Johnston’s Stormwater Homeowner Grant Program is continuing to have resident interest in stormwater best management practices. Since July 2019, residents have completed seven stormwater best management practices. Methods installed includes five rain barrels, one stormwater detention basin, and one erosion control project. These projects have a combined total value of $9,089.05, with the city contributing $2,368.58 towards this total project value amount.
The Stormwater Homeowner Grant Program is funded through June 2020, with funds still available for additional projects. Projects may be eligible for 50% reimbursement up to a maximum of $1,250 (rain barrels max of $75, limit 1 per address).
