One new Johnston Police officer was sworn-in by Mayor Paula Dierenfeld on Monday, May 20, 2019, during the City Council meeting. The Johnston Police Department is excited to have Officer Andrew Curry as the newest certified member of the department.
Andrew Curry has served as a South Dakota certified police officer since 2016 and was previously employed with the Sioux Falls South Dakota Police Department as a patrol officer. He looks forward to advancing his law enforcement career with an organization focused on community policing while allowing himself to engage in municipal problem-solving.
Officer Curry is a graduate of Morningside College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He looks forward to advancing his career within this community while being closer to his family.
“I am excited to have Officer Curry as a member of our department,” said Police Chief Dennis McDaniel. “His previous patrol experience will fit well within our community, and I look forward to seeing him engage in our very active community policing efforts.”
