[ARCHIVED] JOHNSTON IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR CERTIFIED POLICE OFFICERS

JPD Accepting Applications

The Johnston Police Department is accepting applications for CERTIFIED police officers. In state applicants must hold current ILEA certification and have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience after successful completion of a field training program and less than a 180-day break in service. Out of state POST-certified applicants must have a minimum of five (5) year’s law enforcement experience and less than a 180-day break in service.  Law enforcement officers interested in applying should demonstrate professionalism, a commitment to community policing, and have a work history of pro-activity and creating citizen engagement.


The department will offer a starting salary as high as $67,051, dependent upon qualifications, and up to $2,500 incentive pay upon successful completion of field training.
