Did you know you can pick up free firewood here in Johnston? Just stop by the west end of Terra Lake, located at 6300 Pioneer Parkway, and pick some up today! Due to the presence of Emerald Ash Borer in Iowa, this firewood may only be transported within Polk County. The firewood is in large chunks, not yet small enough for a fireplace. You may need a truck to haul it away. Head on over and help yourself during daylight hours. If you need assistance loading the firewood, our Parks Department can help you on Fridays.
