The construction at Johnston Drive and Merle Hay Road continues to progress, but motorists will want to be aware of the traffic delays on Thursday, July 14. Construction crews will remove the existing traffic signals from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, July 14. During this time, a four-way stop will be in place. Motorists can expect delays during this time. Traffic will be stopped for a brief period of time in all directions to take down the existing traffic signals. Crews expect this period of time to be 5-10 minutes. The temporary signals already in place will serve traffic until the new traffic signals are installed. Once the new lanes are in place along with the loop road, the new signals will be activated. Johnston Public Works will be adding electronic message boards to alert motorists of the delays on Thursday morning.
