[ARCHIVED] PICKLEBALL COURTS AVAILABLE AT TERRA PARK

Pickleball_Terra Park_Behind Crown Point Community Center_250 210

Pickleball is a fun sport for people of all ages that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. All skill levels can enjoy this fun sport. Best of all, it is available at Terra Park behind Crown Point Community Center, 6300 Pioneer Pkwy.

The tennis courts are striped for pickleball and measure 20 x 44 feet. In pickleball, the same court is used for both singles and doubles. The net height is 36 inches at the sidelines and 34 inches in the middle. The court is striped, similar to a tennis court, with right and left service courts and a 7-foot non-volley zone in front of the net.

The pickleball courts are reserved during the weekdays from 9 to 11 a.m. but are open for use before or after. They are also open on the weekends. There are a few weekends when Yoga by the Lake will be on the tennis/pickleball courts as something is occurring at the large shelter at Terra Park. For a list of the yoga dates, visit www.cityofjohnston.com/877/Yoga-by-the-Lake.

We hope you enjoy the pickleball courts! If you snap a selfie and post it on social media, tag the City of Johnston so we can share your photo.
