Mayor Paula Dierenfeld challenged Johnston resident for the eighth year in a row! The Mayor's Run for Food has Dierenfeld running one mile for every bag of food, personal items, or $10 donated to the Johnston Partnership Food Pantry between December 1 and 30. Her goal was to reach 1,125 miles. As of 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, she was at 1,097 miles. We will have a final count on Monday, Jan. 3. Over the years of running for food, contributions have totaled nearly $39,000.
Donations can still be made throughout the year.
- Personal Items - Toilet paper, laundry detergent, Kleenex, deodorant, shampoo, and diapers
- Monetary donations are always welcome, as the food pantry can purchase needed items in bulk and cheaper than the rest of the public can buy the same things. Your dollar is stretched further when given to the Johnston Partnership. Monetary donations can also be made online by visiting www.johnstonpartnership.org.
