Tree Board

Purpose

The Tree Board consists of seven members, each serving a four-year term. This board plans and recommends the placement of trees within our community. The Tree Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of every other month at 5:30 p.m. at Johnston City Hall.

The primary duties of the Board include:

  • Act as volunteers for tree-related activities, including the residential tree sale and invasive species clean-ups
  • Establishing guidelines for tree care, preservation, trimming, planting, replanting, removal, or disposal of trees
  • Provide recommendations on landscape plantings within street rights-of-way, parks and public spaces to preserve and enhance the aesthetics of our community
  • Report to Council on the guidelines recommended
