Harbor Oaks/Longboat Storm Drainage Improvements
Harbor Oaks Drive Channel Stabilization
This project is located in the Harbor Oaks Estates Subdivision at the end of Harbor Oaks Drive and Theresa Drive, both outlets of which drain to the same channel. These two storm sewer outlets and the existing channel is experiencing significant head cutting, erosion, and unstable banks which is impacting the existing storm sewer infrastructure and private properties. The intended project would stabilize the channel banks, include drop structures and/or check dams to dissipate the velocity of water and reduce the head cutting and stabilize the downstream channel. The exact practices and project limits will be further determined during the design phase, however, a map showing the general location of the intended improvements can be viewed here (PDF). This channel flows from this project area onto the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers property and into Saylorville Lake.
