After a federal census, cities are required to review their voting precincts to ensure they meet current laws. Because Johnston's population increased to 24,064 in the latest census, we had to make revisions to our precincts, including adding two new precincts - we will now have eight precincts.
The City Council passed Ordinance No. 1074, establishing the precincts, at their January 10, 2022 meeting, and the precincts have been approved by the Secretary of State's office.
For your convenience, precinct maps are available below to give you a general idea of the precinct you are in.
The most accurate resource to verify your polling place is the Iowa Secretary of State's website. They offer a lookup tool which allows you to search by a specific address.
If you have questions about voting, or your precinct or polling place, you may also contact the Polk County Election office (515-286-3247).
