Fire Stations

The JGMFD operates out of three stations, which serve the Johnston and Grimes communities. To learn more about each station and the units located in the stations click on the name of the station to the left.

Fire Station 37
Located at 200 S. James Street in Grimes, Station 37 provides coverage to the western side of our district which includes the City of Grimes, unincorporated areas of Northwestern Polk County, and Eastern Dallas County. Station 37 is staffed 24 hours each day with a staff of 3 personnel, 1 Lieutenant, and 2 Firefighter/Paramedic/EMTs. This crew staffs Engine 372 on a daily basis.

Fire Station 38
Located at 10225 NW 62nd Avenue in Johnston. Station 38 provides coverage to eastern Grimes, western Johnston, and unincorporated northwestern Polk County. Station 38 is staffed 24 hours each day with a staff of four personnel, two Firefighters/Paramedics, and two Firefighters/EMTs. This crew staffs Ambulance 383 and Ambulance 384. In the event of a structure fire, and depending upon available staffing, the crew may staff Engine 381 or Tender 386.

Station 39
Located at 6373 Merle Hay Road in Johnston. Station 39 provides coverage to eastern Johnston and unincorporated areas of northwestern Polk County. Station 39 is staffed 24 hours each day with a staff of 4 personnel, 1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, and 2 Firefighter/Paramedic/EMTs. This crew staffs Car 389 with the Shift Captain, Engine 391, or Engine 395 depending upon the needs of the incident.

Station 39 is also home to the department's Water Rescue resources. These resources include one rigid-hulled boat, one inflatable boat, two jet skis, and one water rescue truck.

Station 39 serves as the Headquarters for JGMFD and houses the administrative offices of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chiefs, and the Community Risk Reduction Division.
