  1. Coffee with a Cop + Breakfast with Santa

    December 7, 2019, 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM @ Johnston Hy-Vee

    Join us for Coffee with a Cop + Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Hy-Vee, 5750 Merle Hay Road. The goal of Coffee with a Cop is for Johnston police officers to get to know you and for you to get to know our officers. This month, bring your children and they can visit with Santa and enjoy breakfast.

    We encourage you to come with specific questions or just be ready to share what is on your mind. In a short time, we hope to get to know you and discover mutual goals that will continue to grow and improve our community.

  3. Johnston Historical Society Holiday Open House

    December 7, 2019, 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM @ Johnston Historical Open House

    The Johnston Historical Society will hold its annual holiday open house on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the 1902 Simpson House Museum, located next to the Johnston Library and the Simpson barn, at 6161 Northglenn Drive. The event will include tours of the decorated museum, holiday crafts and refreshments.

    Santa will also visit the nearby Johnston Library at 2:30 to 4:30.

    The Johnston Station Historical Society is a 501 ( c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to discovering, preserving and presenting the history of the Johnston, Iowa area. Founded in 1994, JHS maintains the 1902 Simpson House museum at 6161 Northglenn Drive in Johnston. That museum is open for selected community events and on the second Sunday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00. Please consider supporting the Society by becoming a member, a volunteer, a benefactor or making a donation of historical items.

  4. Holidays in Johnston

    December 7, 2019, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM @ Johnston Public Library

    Join us for a town celebration at the Johnston Public Library on Saturday, December 7th from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Holidays in Johnston will feature crafts, cookie decorating, a gingerbread house contest, entertainment, food and fun. Santa will even make a special appearance on a Johnston fire truck! No registration is necessary. Holidays in Johnston is free and open to everyone. The Johnston Public Library is located at 6700 Merle Hay Road.
