The City of Johnston is selling trees to residents at the reduced price of $30 per tree. A pre-sale of trees begins on Tuesday, April 11 at 8 am, and can be purchased at Johnston City Hall, located at 6221 Merle Hay Road. The five trees chosen for this year’s sale are Ginko, Hackberry, Bald Cypress “Shawnee Brave,” Flowering Crabapple “Sugar Tyme” and Amur Makia.
Trees will be available for pickup at the Johnston Public Works Department on Saturday, May 6 from 9 to 11 am.
Property owners are allowed to purchase one tree and are encouraged to purchase their tree during the April 11 sale, as the supply is limited. Residents who have pre-ordered a tree will be required to show their receipt as proof of payment. Any trees not picked up during the allotted time will be considered a donation to the city’s tree planting program.
