    Join community members for lunch while fishing at Terra Lake on Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All anglers are welcome, but minors must be accompanied by an adult/guardian.

    What: Bring your lunch to the Terra Park fishing pier, and the City of Johnston Parks and Recreation Department will have bait and fishing poles for you to “cast” away from your workday for an hour of carefree catch and release fishing.

    Johnston residents have the opportunity to vote in a Local Option Sales Tax Special Election on August 6. If approved, it is projected this one-cent tax would generate $3.25 million for the Johnston community.

    The Public Information Meeting to learn more about this vote will be held at City Hall, 6221 Merle Hay Road in Johnston on Monday, July 22 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. More information about this vote is available by visiting, johnstonlocaloption.com

    WHAT WILL THE RETURN BE USED FOR? - 50% or more must be used to reduce property taxes - The remainder will be used for Public Safety, Roads/Sidewalks, Parks, Youth Sports/Recreational Facilities and Library
