Mayor Paula Dierenfeld is at it again for the eighth year in a row! She has issued another challenge to Johnston residents this holiday season. The Mayor will run one mile (beginning on New Year’s Eve) for every bag of food, personal items, or $10 donated to the Johnston Partnership Food Pantry between December 1 and 30. Her goal is to reach 1,000 miles. The community delivered tremendously last year, and the Mayor ended up running 790 miles. Thank you so much for your generosity.
Suggested Donation Items:
- Due to COVID-19, monetary donations are preferred this year. The food pantry can also purchase needed items in bulk and cheaper than the rest of the public can buy the same things. Your dollar is stretched further when given to the Johnston.
- Johnston Partnership – Donate online by visiting www.johnstonpartnership.org. Please be sure to add 'Mayor's Run For Food' in the notes.
- Personal items - Toilet paper, laundry detergent, Kleenex, deodorant, shampoo, and diapers.
- Food Items – Jars of peanut butter, boxes of granola/protein bars, cereal, canned fruit with no sugar added, canned meat, or macaroni & cheese.
