Get Involved_Thrive2040_250x210

The City of Johnston is a growing community, but community feedback is always needed to help guide businesses and residents’ wants and needs. City leaders and staff have been working on a draft comprehensive plan – the Thrive 2040 Plan. This plan will help shape the future growth, investment and reinvestment within our community.

"We encourage residents to get involved and provide feedback and input because that is what helps make Johnston a better community," said Community Development Director David Wilwerding. "We have worked hard to put together a draft Thrive 2040 Plan that meets the priorities that are important to our residents. As City staff, we ask businesses and residents to provide feedback on this plan before City Council adopts it."

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City offers three socially distant alternatives for residents to review, provide input, and discuss the draft Thrive 2040 Plan.

  1. Virtual Open House: The virtual open house is an opportunity to view short videos highlighting each chapter within the plan, download the draft plan and maps, and provide input by completing short survey questions. Visit www.cityofjohnston.com/VirtualOpenHouse.
