[ARCHIVED] SMALL BUSINESS RECOVERY GRANT – APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED

SMALL BUSINESS RECOVERY GRANT_250x210

The Greater Des Moines Small Business Recovery Grant Program began accepting applications as of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, and applications are being extended to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 31. Johnston businesses with commercial locations that have had restrictions placed on their operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic are encouraged to visit DSMpartnership.com/smallbusinessgrant to review the full list of requirements and apply for assistance as needed. Examples of potentially qualified businesses include retail stores, personal care services, and restaurants. The grant program will be available for sole-proprietors or businesses with 0 – 30 employees that have had restrictions placed on their operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses are also encouraged to apply for Paycheck Protection Program funding, in addition to the Small Business Recovery Grant. Grants will be in the amount of between $1,000-$5,000. Applications will be reviewed and scored by The Iowa Center for Economic Success with preference given to businesses that have not received other government grants. The City of Johnston, JEDCO, Polk County, Greater Des Moines Partnership, and private businesses have contributed to the program’s funding pool, and an estimated $100,000 in funds are anticipated to be available exclusively to impacted Johnston businesses.
