Johnston City leaders and staff are planning for the next 20 years, and we need your thoughts and ideas on what makes Johnston Thrive. Providing your input will help us better understand where concerns and issues are.
This is the second phase of the input process, and we are asking residents to review the draft land use directions and associated goals, policies, and implementation strategies generated to date. Our website, www.cityofjohnston.com/ThriveEngagement, allows residents to provide their input by filling out one, two, or three easy steps.
When providing input, please note, your email address and information are required to comment, but will not be displayed next to your comment and will be collected for notification purposes only. Check "Remember Me" to autofill your information for multiple comments.
STEP 1: Vision and Guiding Principles
Within this step, we are asking two questions regarding the Thrive 2040 vision and guiding principles. If you answer “no” to either of these areas, we would ask for your input on how they could be revised to better fit the principles you see for Johnston.
STEP 2: Policy Direction
Within this step, we are asking for input on our policy direction, specifically related to the key policies, goals and implementation strategies. If you disagree, we would ask you to explain why. Doing so will help us adjust our policy direction if needed.
STEP 3: Planned Land Use
Within this step, you can review the draft land use map and residents can add comments directly to the map. After all, this is your community and we want you to be proud of it, so provide us feedback on potential growth areas, redevelopment, and land-use changes.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. It helps staff like myself provide good visioning for the future of this wonderful community.
