Blue Dragon_Venmo_4_250x250

The Blue Dragon Program is gearing up for this year's shopping event, and the Johnston Police Department needs help from the community. The annual event pairs less fortunate children or children who have experienced a tragic incident with a Johnston Police Officer to go shopping together for gifts at the Grimes Walmart.

The program's goal is to build relationships and help children have a brighter holiday season. This annual event is made possible each year because of donations. Community members can make a monetary donation in one of the following ways:

  • Mail a check payable to Johnston Police Department, Attn: Blue Dragon Program, 6373 Merle Hay Road, Johnston, IA 50131
  • Drop-off a check: Checks can be dropped off between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Johnston Public Safety Building, 6373 Merle Hay Road.
  • Donate using Venmo: @Blue-Dragons

Please contact Officer Steck at 515-278-2345 for additional information or donation questions.
