[ARCHIVED] ELECTION RESULTS IN JOHNSTON

Johnston residents headed to the polls on November 5, 2019. They chose three out of five candidates running for City Council.

Current Mayor Paula Dierenfeld will serve as Mayor for two more years in Johnston. She is the longest-running Mayor within our community and has been serving in this role since 2008. The full results of the race were:

- Paula Dierenfeld – 2,137 votes (95.79%)
- Write-in – 94 votes (4.21%)

In the City Council race, incumbent Tom Cope and current Planning and Zoning Commission member Suresh Reedy, and Scott Syroka were the winners. The full results of the race were:

- Tom Cope – 1,171 votes (18.23%)
- Scott R. Syroka – 1,800 votes (28.02%)
- Suresh G. Reddy – 1,316 votes (20.49%)

- Alan J. Schultz – 1,038 votes (16.16%)
- David D. Lindeman – 1,075 votes (16.74%)
- Write-in – 23 votes (0.36%)
