The Prairie Meadows Grant Advisory Committee and the Prairie Meadows Board of Directors have approved Community Betterment Grants to the City of Johnston. The City of Johnston received $5,000 for the Merle Hay trail connection and the City of Johnston Fire Department received $10,000 for an unmanned aerial vehicle for emergency operations.

“We are grateful for the support from Prairie Meadows to enhance trail connections to provide better connectivity within our community,” said Mayor Paula Dierenfeld. “Being able to improve the quality of life for our residents is important and having them get to and from their destinations safely while utilizing the trails is important. We are also very grateful for the grant used to purchase an unmanned aerial vehicle during rescue operations. This vehicle will allow our fire department to enhance rescue operations while getting an aerial view of the area.”
