Fishing with a Firefighter

Due to the weather conditions, the Fishing with a Firefighter event has been postponed. Stay tuned for a date for the next event date.

Join the Johnston-Grimes Metropolitan Fire Department on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Terra Lake for a fishing event.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the shelter on the northwest side of the lake. Attendees can fish from 9 to 11 a.m. and are encouraged to stay for lunch with the firefighters to watch the water rescue demonstration.There will also be a raffle prize drawing during lunch so be sure to pick up your raffle ticket when you register.

The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, channel catfish and bluegill and they are waiting for your bait! There will be fishing poles and tackle for those to use at the event. Residents under sixteen (16) years of age can fish without a license.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to noon. Free will donations will be accepted by the Johnston Professional Fire Fighters Local 4835 and used to benefit the community.
