City officials and staff invite the public to attend the official “first cast” ceremony of the fishing pier at Terra Park, located at 6300 Pioneer Parkway on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
“I am extremely excited for our Mayor and Council to release the first cast off this great fishing pier. This is certainly an amenity residents and visitors can enjoy for many years. This 200-acre park is a destination for those within our community and around the metro,” says Parks & Recreation Director, John Schmitz.
Terra Lake is stocked with breeding-size largemouth bass, channel catfish and bluegills and they are waiting for the public to cast their line. The fishing pier was constructed by Minturn, Inc., and completes phase 4 of Terra Park. The construction of the playground area is underway and is expected to be complete mid-November. Areas of the park that are complete include soft and hard trails, open-air amphitheater and picnic shelter/restroom facility.
