[ARCHIVED] Mayor Dierenfeld signs proclamation for Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week Proclamation photo at city council meeting

Mayor Dierenfeld issued and presented a proclamation during the October 3 City Council meeting recognizing October 9-15, 2022, as Fire Prevention Week.

The City of Johnston joins the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA®) in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW). This year’s FPW campaign, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape™”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.

The Fire Department will post life-saving information throughout the week and host an open house on Saturday, October 15, at Station 39 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
