Due to the high water and more rain expected this week, the trail under the Merle Hay Bridge, north of I-80/35 is closed.
There are also several inches of water over the trail in the Beaver Creek Natural Resource Area. Trail users are encouraged to use extra caution when biking, walking or running in this area. When the upper Beaver Creek watershed receives heavy amounts of rain, it will eventually flow downstream into Beaver Creek in Johnston, which causes flooding.
Johnston Parks will continue to monitor the trails and reopen them as the water levels recede.
