For two weeks only, Johnston residents can have their holiday tree and extra yard waste picked up curbside for the small cost of a Compost It! sticker on Dec. 27, 2021, through Jan. 4, 2022. As a reminder, no wreaths or garland is accepted, and trees must have a Compost It! sticker. Collection of live trees and yard waste occurs on resident's regular collection day.

Please make sure all ornaments, lights, and wires have been removed. During winter collection, in addition, to live trees; leaves, lawn clippings, or garden vegetation can also be collected.

For collection, place your tree or yard waste at the curb before 6:00 a.m. on your regular collection day. Be sure to leave at least three feet between carts and yard waste. Compost It! bags and stickers are available at city hall as well as many area grocers and hardware stores.
