Keep your overhead garage doors closed whenever you are going to be out of immediate sight of your garage.

Avoid allowing any uninvited visitors into your home. If you do not personally invite them or know them, have them remain outside while you deal with them.
Never give out any of your personal or financial information to a solicitor and avoid giving money unless you are familiar with the solicitor or can confirm the validity of the business or organization they are representing.
Avoid leaving any items of value, like your purse, wallet or personal electronics, sitting out in your home where they can be easily seen by someone outside your home.
