Site plans are drawings that accurately illustrate a property, with existing and proposed conditions.
The City of Johnston requires the submission of site plans for proposed property development to verify the development would be in accordance with the city’s requirements, standards and regulations.
Required Information on Site Plans
Johnston’s ordinance specifies the information that must be included on site plans. City staff review the site plans for completeness and coordinate a development review with the applicant to discuss the site plans. The site plans are then reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission. A recommendation is made by the commission to approve or deny the proposed plans to the Johnston City Council, who makes the final decision on whether to approve the application.
The review process typically requires about six to eight weeks.
