NW 62nd Avenue & Merle Hay Road Project

Project Description
This project involves the complete reconstruction of NW 62nd Avenue from NW 59th Court east through NW 54th Court. This project is part of the city’s efforts to improve roadway safety, improve the deteriorating roadway surface and improve overall drainage in the immediate vicinity of the project. The project will be built in three main construction stages with stage 1 beginning spring/early summer. 

The project will consist of PCC Pavement, sidewalk and shared-use path, water-main improvements, storm sewer, sub-drains, sanitary sewer, sanitary manholes, storm sewer manholes and intakes, pavement markings, and surface restoration.

Project Update (6/4/2021)
The NW 54th Court intersection connection is now complete. Temporary paving on the east end of NW 62nd is complete. The gaps in the trail along Merle Hay Road and NW 62nd Avenue have been filled. Sub-drain should be finished by June 11.

The contractor has begun grading driveways and those should be complete by June 4.  The driveways should be fully complete the week of June 7. 

The re-opening of NW 62nd Avenue will occur late morning on June 7. Backfill, trail, and sidewalks will also begin the week of June 7.
