Project Description This project involves the complete reconstruction of NW 62nd Avenue from NW 59th Court east through NW 54th Court. This project is part of the city’s efforts to improve roadway safety, improve the deteriorating roadway surface and to improve overall drainage in the immediate vicinity of the project. The project will be built in three main construction stages with stage 1 beginning spring/early summer.
The project will consist of PCC Pavement, sidewalk and shared-use path, water-main improvements, storm sewer, sub-drains, sanitary sewer, sanitary manholes, storm sewer manholes and intakes, pavement markings, and surface restoration.
Project Update (11/18/2020)
Construction continues at the intersection of NW 62nd Avenue and Merle Hay Road. The contractor is planning to close the intersection on Saturday, Nov. 21, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to pour the center turn lane on Merle Hay Road north and south of NW 62nd Avenue. The closure is intended to minimize traffic pattern switches for motorists. The detour route can be found here.
The closure is weather dependent. If the forecast projects rain, this will prohibit the contractor from pouring concrete.
Message boards will be in place to notify motorists of the closure.
